  • Feature: CCMDS update method will run on upgrade.

  • Change: The starting point for drop down lists is again at the top of the lists.

  • Change: Tab order on the admission screen has been updated.

  • Change: On export a check is now carried out on each 'status at discharge' field.  If no data is present the system will set any fields to 'still in unit' which are then exported as 'E'.

  • Bug Fix: The ICON report is correctly taking hospital discharge dates and unit discharge dates.

  • Bug Fix: CCMDS DVR option no longer causes the program to hang.

  • Bug Fix: Tabbing issue on the discharge page has been addressed.

10.10.07 MedICUs v5.1.3

  • Change: 'White blood cell count' and 'platelet count' have been swapped around to match the CMP data collection form.

  • Bug Fix: CCMDS > LOS now clears after deletion of a discharge record

  • Change: Lowest pH/H+ unit will disappear making it easy to identify the field is in use.

  • Bug Fix: ICNARC Export: Dependency prior to admission (DEP) no longer comes through as null.

  • Change: The date range box has been re-instated into the update all scores option.

  • Change: In unit during period, start date and end date are now available as options when running the organ support summaries

 

20.09.07 MedICUs v5.0.50

  • Change: In assessment, every physiology field is now validated according to length and decimal place.

  • Change: CMP number must be present and correctly formatted for an ICNARC export to take place.

  • Change: Number fields on the CCMDS tab only accept a maximum of 3 numbers.

  • Change: Alerts now appear when changing a field value (either accidentally or deliberately) that causes other data to be deleted. For example, status at discharge and sex (female with pregnancy data to male).

  • Change: CCMDS LOS is no longer editable.

  • Change: All global drop down lists now contain a blank option.

  • Change: Diagnosis must contain Type, System and Site in order to be saved.

 

23.08.07 MedICUs v5.0.45

  • Change: The Level of Care field on page 3 has been made preferable. Turn it on/off from within Preferences > Assessment.

  • Feature: As with all ICNARC fields a missing tick box has been added for GCS.

  • Change: Non-admitted patients can now see the episode ID field.

  • Change: ICNARC v3 export. No. of previous caesarean sections and no. of still births export issue fixed.

10.08.07 MedICUs v5.0.39

  • Change: Arterial pH / H+ has been moved from Page 2 to Page 1.

  • Feature: There's a new view menu option, Interventions incomplete.

  • Feature: CCMDS: If collecting CCMDS data using either 'Manual care days with Daily' or 'Manual care days, no daily' the numeric CCMDS fields appear as blanks. The 'Automatic care days via interventions' option defaults the fields with zero's.

  • Feature: CCMDS: Discharged patients CCMDS records will show LOS equal to the total of Level 0, Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3 days. Level 0 days are automatically entered to make up any difference.

  • Feature: CCMDS: If collecting CCMDS data using the setting, 'Manual care days with Daily', by selecting 'Advanced Respiratory' as a supported organ the level of care will automatically increase to level 3.

  • Change: In assessments an alert message appears when a highest value is entered and the lowest value is empty.

  • Change: LPa02 has been re-named Lowest Pa02.

  • Change: LOS, Level 0 & Level 1 are always present on the CCMDS tab, no longer preferable.

  • Change: Alert messages have been added to the pregnancy section.

  • Feature: Preferences > NHS no. field for in-house use.  Use this option if NHS no. is collected for own use and doesn't comply with the correct format, ABC1234567 or 123456790.

  • Change: Unit numbers for transfer patients should be between 20000000 and 20999999

  • Change: On the Infections tab, if LOS is less than 48 hours the options for unit acquired infection MRSA / Cdiff are no longer available.

1.02.07 MedICUs v5

 

  • Feature: Patient, assessment and discharge screens redesigned in accordance with the ICNARC v3 dataset.

  • Feature: Preference option entitled ICNARC v2. Un-ticking the box allows ICNARC v3 data entry.

  • Feature: ICNARC v2 & v3 patients are easily identified from the patient list screen.  Yellow background shading signifies v2 and white v3.

  • Feature:  Using the preference item entitled ‘patient dataset switch option’ a single patient can be changed from v3 to v2 or v2 to v3.  To use this function on a single record, select the tick box in admission.  For a group of patients in a date range go to File, Preferences, File, Dataset version for patients.

  • Change: The ICNARC list of country codes has been included.

  • Change: The ethnicity sort order is determined by code.

  • Feature: Postcode validation.  Postcode is only exported when it has 8 characters or less not including spaces.

  • Feature: Alongside postcode is a tick box for ‘Unknown’.

  • Feature: Pregnancy section available on the patient tab when Sex = Female.

  • Feature: NHS number validation.  A warning will appear if the NHS number is not entered with 10 characters  If this warning is ignored the export file will exclude the NHS number.

  • Feature: A re-admission record will use the dataset selected in preferences, regardless of the dataset used for their previous admission.

  • Change: Original hospital admission date changed to original hospital admission /attended date

  • Change: The mechanical ventilation yes/no field on the admission tab can be switched on in preferences.

  • Feature: When a diagnosis is incomplete, the comments to ICNARC window opens and the partial code automatically entered.

  • Feature: Clinical Data > Daily Assessment – depending on the version being used this window will display the relevant fields.

  • Feature: There are two validation checks for physiology data; a usual range and an acceptable range.  If the values are outside the usual range a warning will appear, if the values are outside the acceptable range, the value will be deleted. 

  • Feature: Changing a patient with physiological values to v3 automatically answers the question, evidence available to abstract physiology data to yes and brings through any relevant values.

  • Change: A patient in the unit for less than 24hours will display admission and discharge date and time in the assessment from & to fields.

  • Feature: The ICNARC model physiology scores and probabilities have been included on the scores tab.

  • Feature: The field ‘Level of care received at discharge’ automatically populates with information taken from page 3 of the last assessment.

  • Feature: Infection fields are available within the discharge section.

  • Feature: Unit acquired infection fields are only visible for patients with a unit length of stay greater than 48 hours.

  • Feature: The infections tab will not be visible if evidence available to abstract physiology data is set to no.

  • Feature: Drop down fields on the CCMDS tab populate automatically depending on the information available. Unit Function and Unit Bed Configuration are set in preferences.

  • Feature: Non admitted patients have access to the CCMDS tab where data can be entered manually.

  • Feature: When viewing a mixed list of v2 & v3 patients. If you open a record and use the blue navigation icon only patients of the same ICNARC version will be opened.

  • Feature: Help providing the field definitions for ICNARC v3 fields is available . Help is switched on by clicking the red dot in the top right hand corner of each screen

  • Change: If you try to change the admission number of a record that has been exported to ICNARC, the system will advise you not to do it.

  • Change: A new version of Pocket MedICUs has been released which is compatible with both MedICUs v5 and also Windows Mobile 5.

  • Change: The improved DVR report can be accessed for an individual patient or produced automatically on export. The DVR identifies missing data for both highest and lowest with one comment.  e.g. No relevant data for serum sodium.

  • Change: The export window has been improved.

  • Feature: If Zip ICNARC export is selected in preferences, the exported file will be zipped and encrypted. WinZip v10 or later and WinZip command line must be installed on the PC for this feature to function.

  • Change: The Critical Care report has been updated and will display data depending on the ICNARC version set in preferences.

  • Feature: New Super Report: ICON report.  (Intensive Care Outcome Network Study).

  • Feature: New Super Report: Organ supported CCMDS report

  • Change: Critical Care Summary modified in accordance with the new dataset. Care Level Days are taken from CCMDS and repatriation has been added to the admission planning field.
